Job Summary and Opportunity

As our Cloud Engineer you will be an integral part in helping migrate our infrastructure and applications to AWS. Axos is migrating from traditional data-centers to a dynamic public cloud solution using AWS. We are building an architecture that will be used to house all of our business critical applications, security solutions, and development environments. This role will be joining a cloud engineering team that is responsible for building/designing this architecture, and preparing our current environment for this transformation. While we are ideally looking for individuals with previous DevOps and public cloud experience, this is a great opportunity for someone with a systems engineering background and automation skills who is looking to gain that exposure! This position is on-site and located at our HQ in San Diego, CA or Las Vegas, NV.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain highly available and scalable production systems
• Manage core production systems, including frequent changes and updates
• Rapidly identify and resolve problems in production systems
• Handle complex service faults
• Develop tools to improve our monitoring with infrastructure running in Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure environments
• Improve technologies and processes while maintaining a rapid delivery cycle
• Provide support during off hours (nights and weekends) when necessary

Requirements

• 3+ years' managing and maintaining Linux and Windows servers in a multi-server, multi-location environment
• Experience with virtualization solutions (VMware or other)
• Ability to use a wide variety of technologies, including: open source technologies, cloud services (AWS, Azure), IIS, Apache, Tomcat, F5, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, APM
• A working understanding of code and script (Powershell, .NET, Python, Ruby, AngularJS, Node.js, and/or Go)
• Strong understanding across cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, data, and applications) to deliver end-to-end cloud infrastructure architectures and designs
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

Preferred:

• Experience configuring Amazon Web Services or similar cloud-based platforms
• Automation/configuration management experience in a DevOps environment (using Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Packer or related technology)
