What you do:

A Senior Cloud Systems Engineer will perform as a technical lead, analyzing, problem solving and administering more than one business domain and vendor cloud platform. This role will understand and develop against both functional and non-functional requirements, which can include design thinking, cloud strategies for both infrastructure, platforms and applications/services; drives projects with a focus adhering and engineering to established guiding principles, platforms and standards. Senior Cloud Systems Engineer is expected to be a technical subject matter expert within cloud engineering, contribute to projects from inception to execution using best practices. The individual will be proficient and own deliverables related to DevOps concepts, scripting and automated deployment, security, backup and recovery, monitoring and support to help drive successful project, operational stability and resiliency with a deep understanding of the following is expected:

A successful candidate will have background in:

  • Cloud strategy, cloud provider ecosystems (AWS/Azure) and migrating Enterprise from traditional data center infrastructure, Application and Data design to hybrid or fully cloud enabled practices
  • Transformation/Migration methods to AWS and Azure
  • Contributing to 24x7x365 staff coverage across all business and vendor cloud platforms.
  • Develops security plans, testing and maintenance
  • Contributes and as necessary directly manages Managed Cloud Services
  • Automation/ DevOps/ CICD
  • Hands on experience with infrastructure as code AWS and Azure
  • Assists IT management in prioritizing, designing and driving AWS/Azure infrastructure for a transformational organization
  • Proficient development experience in AWS/Azure environment, experience designing and executing
  • Working knowledge of continuous integration and/or continuous deployment tools and scripting, especially infrastructure-as-code
  • Monitors, troubleshoots and resolves failed services or technologies
  • Maintain and Operationally support cloud security infrastructure across both AWS and Azure, utilizing various cloud native tools and vendor provided services and tools
  • Ability to understand client requirements from technical descriptions and demonstrate implementation execution for both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Contribute to the technical knowledge base.
  • May perform other duties as assigned
  • Available for travel (if required)
  • Team player, strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills is a must; ability to work in complex multi-national/multi-cultural environments
  • Solid experience (5+ years) with functional, technical and integration related topics
  • Experience with short and accurate documentation and modeling activities

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified AWS solutions architect or Azure equivalent and additional disciplines such as security and network also preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge technology knowledge gaps between IT staff and corporate staff such as business and product teams, compliance, security, legal and procurement groups
  • 5-7 years of infrastructure or software engineering experience with 3+ years of experience in Cloud technologies/platforms and transformation.
  • Strong conceptual abilities and implementation of pragmatic methods and procedures
  • Openness to new ideas and change, ability to learn, flexibility, adaptability, willingness to innovate, unconventional thinking
