WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

The AWS Cloud Engineer III will be charged with designing, building, and migrating applications on the AWS Platform. They will evangelize and educate technology team members on AWS solutions and the value in using cloud-native features. They will support applications in production and pre-production systems, supporting the software teams that build and support them.
• Work with team members to identify, design, and implement the appropriate cloud solutions for QBP, providing guidance and mentorship to technical teams on cloud competencies. * [25%]

  • Participate, from an operations perspective, in team development agile processes: planning, design, development, testing, deployment, support and maintenance.* [25%]
  • Troubleshoot cloud incidents, perform root cause analysis, and assist in resolution.* [15%]
  • Design, implement, support, and grow CI/CD pipelines for development teams.* [10%]
  • Manage cloud environment in accordance with company security guidelines.* [5%]
  • Apply modern operations techniques such as automation and infrastructure as code.* [5%]
  • Ensure cloud application observability, performance, uptime, and availability.* [5%]
  • Augment / supplement and backup roles of Cloud Administrators or System Administrators when needed. * [5%]


• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Application Manager, eCommerce Platform. [5%]

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

o 7+ years of combined Cloud Engineering and System Administrator experience

o Experience with the Linux / Unix operating system

o Extensive knowledge of AWS and the broad range of experience with AWS services

o Hands on experience with AWS EC2, RDS (MySQL/PostgreSQL/MSSQL), S3, Cloudfront

o Knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: Go, Python, Perl, Java, Bash

o Scripting capability and the ability to develop AWS environments as code

o Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools, such as Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Artifactory

o Experience with source control and Git

o Experience managing network related items such as DNS, SSH, VPN

o AWS cost management and optimization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

o Some experience with other cloud providers such as Azure, GCP, OCI

o Experience writing code for serverless applications

o Use of observability tools such as Dynatrace or New Relic

o CI/CD experience using Gitlab

o AWS certifications
OTHER RELATED CRITERIA-

o Domestic Travel

§ Periodically travel to technical conferences, seminars, or training events.

o Physical Requirements

§ Ability to perform work on a phone and computer extensively.

o Working Hours

§ Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, to support software systems when needed.
