OVERVIEW:

As a DevOps Architect, you will lead efforts to design and build our software development lifecycle strategy. Your knowledge of CICD solutions, container runtime environments, and cloud-native deployments will guide the team in creating solutions used by hundreds of teams at Siemens Digital Industries Software.

The role will involve working with many stakeholders with diverse deployment requirements and will require an ability to work in multiple cloud environments (both public and private). You will lead by creating a shared vision of success for cloud deployments and SaaS offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the technical design of DevOps and cloud deployment across the company.

Create high-level architectural diagrams and documentation that can be consumed and implemented by DevOps engineers.

Collaborate with product owners, software engineers, and executives to define a shared vision of success in the cloud.

Build solutions that can operate at scale.

Guide application teams towards proper micro-service architectures and cloud-native implementations.

Advice on cost optimization for infrastructure.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline.

8+ years of experience in building DevOps automation and cloud-native architecture platforms.

4+ years as an infrastructure architect.

2+ years of experience working on Kubernetes in a fast-paced, production environment.

Experience with CICD infrastructure and pipelines (Gitlab CI experience a plus).

Familiarity with continuous delivery tools for Kubernetes, such as ArgoCD.

Understanding of cloud-native architectures, patterns, application deployments, and operations.

Ability to make architectural decisions and communicate reasoning to the wider team.

Experience with visualizations tools such as Lucidspark or draw.io to create architectural documentation and diagrams.

Experience architecting and building services in AWS (other cloud provider experience a plus).

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools and services such as Ansible, Terraform, and Cloudformation.

Experience with one or more of the following: Java, node.js, C#.

Experience working in an Agile team.
