The Role
The Cloud & DevOps Engineer is responsible for the deployment pipelines and cloud architecture of Nordic software applications, both within Nordic's cloud subscriptions as well as those deployed to client subscriptions. Nordic's software solutions focus on integration and interoperability with Electronic Health Records, the development of unique web applications and integrations that serve and retrieve healthcare data, and the creation of compelling new tools to speed and simplify clinical and financial processes. The Cloud & DevOps Engineer should bring a strong understanding of software development processes, and the tools and technologies provided by cloud vendors to enable the delivery and execution of software.

Key Responsibilities
The Cloud & DevOps Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Ownership of application architecture within both AWS and Azure across several applications
  • Development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to execute automated testing and code coverage monitoring, build containers, and deploy code
  • Creation of marketplace listings for Nordic software applications
  • Troubleshoot software deployments and execution issues within cloud environments
  • Set up centralized logging and monitoring tools across deployed environments
  • Deployment of net new architecture using Infrastructure-As-Code deployment technologies
  • Provide a strong understanding of cloud architecture; help select appropriate technologies to enable requirements and reduce overhead
  • Creation of compelling visuals that describe deployment processes and cloud architecture
  • Work on multiple unique projects during the same timeframe
  • Work on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary, directed, assigned, or requested
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related software development degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years' experience deploying and maintaining software within a cloud environment. A public code repository with examples of personal work is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Linux and Windows terminal commands and syntax and proven ability to read and write scripts for execution within a terminal.
  • 3+ years' experience developing software using any language
  • Experience with identity management providers and authentication protocol competencies including OAuth2.
  • Experience using Git on projects with multiple developers. A strong and displayable understanding of Git syntax and process
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to a variety of business partners
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting the needs of business partners and project timelines
  • Experience working and/or learning in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic's maxims
