Overall description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cloud Architect with expertise in Azure, AWS, and RedHat OpenShift on Azure (ROSA). As a Cloud Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions, driving our organization's digital transformation, and optimizing cloud infrastructure to deliver high-performance, secure, and scalable applications. Additionally, your strong background in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) DevOps practices will be instrumental in streamlining our software development processes and fostering a culture of collaboration and automation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud architecture solutions in Azure, AWS, and RedHat OpenShift on Azure (ROSA).
  • Cloud Migration Strategy: Lead cloud migration initiatives, assessing existing on-premises infrastructure and applications, and developing migration plans to the cloud.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure cloud-based solutions adhere to industry best practices, compliance requirements, and security standards. Implement measures for data protection, access control, and disaster recovery.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools and practices to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Establish CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows to enable smooth and rapid software development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Implement containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to optimize application deployment and management.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions for enhanced system efficiency.
  • Cost Optimization: Recommend cost optimization strategies, monitoring cloud resource usage, and implementing best practices to optimize cloud spending.
  • Cloud Governance: Define and enforce cloud governance policies, ensuring compliance and efficient resource utilization.
  • Cloud Vendor Management: Manage relationships with cloud service providers, evaluating new offerings, and negotiating contracts to meet the organization's needs.
  • Cloud EPMO Professional Services Support: Collaborate with the Cloud Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) to provide expert advice and support for cloud-related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Creating ROI/Sales Plans for Vendor Labs: Work with vendors and stakeholders to create Return on Investment (ROI) and sales plans for cloud-based vendor labs, showcasing the benefits of adopting their solutions.
  • Supporting Learning and Experimentation in Innovation Labs: Assist in setting up and supporting innovation labs, enabling teams to experiment with new cloud technologies and assess their feasibility and potential business value.
  • Identifying and Reviewing Enterprise-wide Cloud Gaps: Conduct thorough assessments to identify gaps in the organization's current cloud infrastructure and capabilities. Review existing cloud solutions and propose enhancements to optimize performance and efficiency.

Skill Requirements:

  • Cloud Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture, services, and solutions in Azure, AWS, and RedHat OpenShift on Azure (ROSA).
  • DevOps Background: Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, build automation, and related DevOps tools and practices.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Scripting and Automation: Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash, with a focus on automation and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Security and Compliance: Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and design practical, scalable solutions.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams.

 Qualifications:                                                                        

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications in Azure, AWS, and RedHat (ROSA) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Cloud Architect, with a strong focus on Azure, AWS, and RedHat OpenShift on Azure (ROSA) platforms.
  • Active MBI Clearance is highly preferred.

Minimum Eligibility: US Citizenship/Green Card holder (GC at least 3+ Years)

Location: DMV area (preferred) with the flexibility to travel occasionally for meetings and conferences.
