TheAI and Automationteam is driving a transformational journey across multiple groups at FIS. We use the right tool to solve high impact problems, buildingintelligent solutions through hybrid AI/ML and traditional RPA frameworks.We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect tolead anddrive technical solutioning for AIand automation initiativesthat deliver maximum impact today and prepare us for the future.
You will be a Cloud Architect on the Intelligent Automation team. We are looking for someone who is interested in working in a dynamic environment with a strong focus on technology transformation and software development.
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for all aspects of system architecture in support of our entire Intelligent Automation solution portfolio.

  • On behalf of the architecture team, this role interfaces with the Intelligent Automation development team, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders within other teams at FIS that we develop automation solutions for. This is to ensure that the technical requirements of any given solution are clearly understood.
  • Leads architecture discussions with other system architects within product development and other teams.
  • Responsibility for uptime of environments within the cloud - spanning from development through UAT/production.
  • Partner with solution architects, cloud services delivery and other teams to create, maintain the overall cloud design and architecture, in compliance with documented standards and patterns.
  • Provides architecture support across all teams within Intelligent Automation, technically helping to bridge the gap between our customer requirements and IA engineering delivery & automation.
  • Responsibility for cost modeling of cloud-based architectural solutions.
  • Define and track performance metrics and measures in respect of continuous improvement for Intelligent Automation solutions in production.
  • Plays a significant role in the product development lifecycle
  • Regular reporting of progress regarding assigned tasks, flagging risks early and resolving them quickly.


What you bring:

  • +5 years senior cloud systems architecture experience - modelling techniques, patterns, tools and standards.
  • Public cloud technologies, cloud hosting, containers, and networking design patterns, tools and best practices. (AWS)
  • Microservice and API-led architecture and integration design (Edge, K8s - OCP/EKS, CI/CD, Kafka, Cassandra), including design tools, techniques and best practices
  • Event-driven architecture design, patterns
  • Has the experience and confidence to own architecture challenges and always drives to a conclusion
  • Agile/DevOps delivery and associated practices
  • Shaping and supporting technology initiatives, project, based on customer demand
  • AWS Solution Architect certification (or relevant experience)
  • Extensive experience of OpenShift or Elastic Kubernetes Service
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Microservices development and associated technology ecosystems
  • Knowledge/practical application of agile methodologies
  • Track record in delivering work to schedule and to specification
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lead independently, but also collaborate when necessary to achieve a richer outcome


Added bonus if you have:

  • Extensive experience in financial systems, and hybrid architectures - on-prem, private and public cloud
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform architecture
  • Solid understanding of how architecture is delivered as part of SAFe
  • Worked as part of a global team
  • Experienced in any of the following - Clarity, ServiceNow, Rally, Oracle Business Suite, JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams, SharePoint
  • Working on 24/7 systems
  • Experience with development of end-to-end automation solutions
