We are seeking a CISO for Anchorage Digital Bank to administer the bank-level Information Security program to maintain compliance with regulatory standards. The mission of this role is to provide business-focused oversight of the InfoSec Program and Business Continuity Program within Anchorage Digital Bank, as well as overseeing the technology relationship between Anchorage Digital Bank and Anchor Labs. This is a direct opportunity to lead a forward-looking information security program at a leading-edge financial institution and the first federally-charted digital assets bank.

As the CISO of Anchorage Digital Bank you will:

  • Maintain bank level enterprise information security program commensurate with FFIEC Standards
  • Design a critical response process for cyber security incidents
  • Identify, report and control incidents relevant to bank services
  • Manage and train bank staff on information security
  • Work with CSO in threat monitoring
  • Ensure that disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and tested 
  • Approve and administer identity access policies
  • Maintain a current understanding of the IT threat landscape for the industry
  • Ensure Bank compliance with the changing laws and applicable regulations
  • Schedule periodic security tests, including internal and external penetration testing and phishing
  • Schedule table-top exercises for Crisis Team and senior management
  • Review and approve security policies, procedures and controls
  • Ensure that they are kept current and are communicated to staff/consultants
  • Ensure staff/vendor compliance with the Bank’s security policies and procedures
  • Manage, employees, contractors and vendors involved in IT security
  • Provide training and mentoring to security team members and Bank staff
  • Brief the executive team on status and risks, overall strategy and necessary budget
  • Communicate best practices and risks to the Bank
  • Perform a risk assessment of the Bank’s vulnerabilities in the cybersecurity landscape and develop the Bank’s risk appetite for information Security
  • Develop key risk indicators and dashboard metrics reporting to both the management team and the Bank Board of Directors

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • Background working on large-scale projects and the ability to manage multiple processes and projects at once while building constructive working relationships across the different teams, functions, cultures, genders and demonstrating Anchorage Digital Bank’s behaviors and values
  • A strong understanding of key cloud architecture principles, cryptography, APIs, as well as appropriate enterprise security practices
  • Knowledge and experience of Information Security Risk and Security governance
  • Experience participating in security incident response and coordinating activities
  • Familiarity with FFIEC standards and similar regulations
  • Experience working with external regulators including OCC and NYDFS

  • Backend Tech: Go, C, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Vault, GCP, AWS, and GraphQL
  • Frontend Tech: JavaScript, ReactJS, Flow, CSS Modules, Webpack, Jest, and Cypress
  • Mobile Tech: Swift, RxSwift, CocoaPods, and Secure Enclave
  • Engineering methodologies: Reverse uptime, cryptographically linked data models, tamper resistant ledgers, air gapped infrastructure, secure execution environments, repeatable builds, and infra-as-code.
