ManTech is seeking a Chief Engineer with extensive Cloud Strategy experience that includes expertise across various commercial and government cloud service providers - including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, MilCloud, and Microsoft Azure for our efforts supporting multiple NAVSEA customers in and around Hampton Roads Virginia.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Primary focus of this position will be the oversight and direction of a talented team of engineers, administrators, and analysts to develop cloud-based solutions and capabilities that solve our customers toughest mission problems.
  • Develop IT solutions that optimize architectures and help define a migration plan for how to refactor application and architect deployment pipelines.
  • Proven experience of transitioning new COTS based and legacy GOTS enterprise applications securely to the cloud.
  • Develops cloud computing strategies and solutions that provide cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, architecture, development, and management.
  • Analyzes complex customer problem sets and emerging technology needs and supports the development of ManTech cloud capabilities to meet these challenges through active participation in Internal Research and Development efforts.
  • Interfaces with industry, academia, and research centers to proactively identify emerging cloud, AI/ML, data analytics, cyber, and mission IT technologies and best practices that can be applied to client needs and to stay informed on new technology trends.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion as needed


Qualifications and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working with multiple government agencies including agencies under the Department of Defense.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical area preferred. Master's degree desired.
  • Ten years related experience with at least 5 years of experience in developing secure cloud solutions across major cloud service providers.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, and Team Foundation Services.
  • Experience with routinely interfacing with senior level customer technical representatives.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in security policy and emerging cybersecurity technologies.
  • Experience in developing Security Solutions in the Cloud (full Cloud and Hybrid model).
  • Experience in developing solutions for Asset management of Cloud resources.
  • Demonstrated experience with containerization and microservices solutions (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Knowledge and experience working with federal compliance and guidance, including FISMA, RMF, Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework, DoDAF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800 series, FedRAMP and cloud-based security controls.
  • Experience with cloud brokerages, associated architectures, and security services.
  • Knowledge of technology for implementing security controls, including access control, privileged access management, data security, network security, data loss prevention, Cloud security, vulnerability management, configuration management, privacy, and audits.
  • Solid understanding of digital engineering practices to include MBSE and MBPS. (Desired)
  • Must have active SECRET security clearance (SSBI based is desired).
  • Commercial cloud certifications and other IT/Cyber centric industry certifications are desired.


Physical Requirements:

  • Extensive time in stationary position
  • Be able to move around the office
  • Operate office equipment
  • Be able to communicate professionally with ManTech employees and ManTech clients
  • Must be able to observe and report
