As the senior technologist of the organization, this person will be a critical partner for the Head of Engineering while also being a mentor and advisor to the engineering teams. They are responsible for driving the strategic technology direction of the organization, assisting stakeholders in building out roadmaps and driving priorities to meet various objectives. This role reports into the Head of Engineering. 

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead the construction of our technology vision. Understands that this isn’t done in a vacuum and works collaboratively with leadership, senior staff engineers, and others throughout the organization to construct and achieve that vision.   
  • The head of engineering will rely on this individual to play significant roles in all aspects of the organization including: technology, product shaping, and organizational design.
  • Exposes technology and organizational needs throughout the engineering organization.
  • Understands when and how to decentralize decision making to empower teams. 
  • Can achieve significant outcomes on the roadmap by effectively influencing other leaders in the organization.  
  • Guides conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration across team members.
  • Serves as an escalation point for complex and thorny technical issues. 
  • Mentor, lead & manage a small but strong group of senior staff engineers
What You Bring to Reify Health
  • You have experience being a senior technologist supporting an organization of up to 200 engineers. 
  • You are an empathetic leader who realizes that technology evolution is as much about people as it is about technology.
  • You understand how to create change in a fast evolving organization. 
  • You are capable of making decisions, sometimes difficult, that align with business success.
  • Expert level experience in SaaS based products, distributed systems, event driven systems, and security. 
  • You will help to attract top talent into the organization.
  • You will help build a strong technical brand for the Reify Health engineering team.
  • While not required, the ideal candidate has extensive experience in our technology stack. (Clojure, React, Postgres, Kafka)

My mornings are all about responding to emails and following up with applicants! For myself, I find it to be super important to follow up with applicants asap.
