Chassis Subsystem Validation Engineer - Fuel Systems, Driveline, Mounts

As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO vision for the future, we are looking to add hardworking individuals to our Chassis and Active Thermal Validation team! On this team, we contribute to that vision by executing Systems Engineering principles with a focus on Feature/System validation and strong multi-functional collaboration to ensure robust validation of sophisticated technologies. We support the Enterprise to be the leaders in Electric Vehicles by executing critical validation testing quickly while continuing to ensure we maintain our Truck / SUV dominance.
As a Chassis Subsystem Validation Engineer (SVE) you will serve as the single point contact for validation. Your responsibilities will be for all aspects of validation for Chassis/Active Thermal Management (CATM) components and subsystems included in one of these areas: Driveline Systems, Mounts, or Fuel Systems. The SVE role provides ample opportunities to gain extensive knowledge while using a wide range of engineering skillsets (mechanical, materials, FMEA, analysis, measurement, statistics, and program management) to help develop our robust and efficient validation plans. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Chassis Engineering team, Development Teams, Suppliers, Supplier Quality, VDDV (Analysis), Powertrain, MPG Technical Specialists, and Program Teams. In this role there are a great deal of opportunities to develop and apply a high level of project management, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively and transparently communicate status and recovery plans for the validation breakthroughs! Your Responsibilities:
- Create and lead Plan For Every Part(s)
- Administer required hardware test parts
- Develop, supervise, and confirm completion of AVDP&R Plans and test schedules
- Support Quality Processes and assemble and submit Lessons Learned
- Support ADV process to reduce Hardware and to realize RLM (Road-Lab-Math) strategy
- Coordinate Export validation activities in foreign countries with local partners
- Coordinate work with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Participate in Problem Solving Teams and DFMEA work groups
- Create and Manage Vehicle and/or Commodity ADV Sub plans
- Review Program/Process Results with program team/leadership as required and at program breakthroughs.
- Analyze and interpret resulting data from tests (resolve data anomalies)
- Maintain frequent communication with Engineering Management and Program Teams, as well as with others outside of work group
- Create MVSS documentation as required
Additional Description
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 1 year of post graduate engineering experience (not including co-op or internship experience)
- Proficient Project Management Skills
- Basic automotive knowledge, basic engineering principals
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft office software
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to efficiently collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
Preferred Skills:
- Master's Degree in STEM field
- Test or validation experience
- Design or Release experience
- Automotive chassis experience - design, development, test and/or validation.
- Automotive supplier experience
- Electronic or Electro-Mechanical background (i.e., Controllers, SW/Cal, diagnostics, etc.)
- Ability to work in PQMS, PRTS, Vis Mock-up, E-squared, GSTS
- Familiar with CAE and with Manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of GM organization structure (who does what), GM validation process, basic GM design process, Vehicle Physical Partition Structure
- Knowledge of V-spy, WinValid, NeoVi, Serial Data Suite, DPS
- Design For Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt
