The Regional Business Developer will be the senior One Citi ambassador in his/her country or cluster, able to articulate and promote the value proposition of CPB as well as the broader ICG platform and capabilities.

The job requires in-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is also necessary to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/ or area of expertise. Excellent communication skills required to influence a wide range of audiences. The job is likely to be involved in both internal and external negotiations, which will have a major impact on the area managed. Develops medium-to-long-term plans and executes functional strategies for a large/complex country, cluster of countries, or business requiring coordination and integration across units. Provides input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within a region or business. Has authority to negotiate and make independent decisions on issues/activities that have critical impact or influence on company revenues, capital, or business operations. The role will be reporting to a C16 role who sits on the highest functional leadership team within a region, job function, or global business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for overall BCMA and CCB Partnerships agreements and revenues in their respective markets. Aligned with Citi Country Cluster Heads, CCO's and IB Cluster Heads in their respective country or cluster.
  • Partner with the sales teams (Bankers and Product partners) as well as wider Citi businesses, to deliver growth in NCAs and revenues in excess of the Plan for the country or cluster.
  • Drive growth for Citi in the region by engaging systematically with their ICG counterparts through (i) enhanced partnership initiatives, (ii) joint client calling and pipeline management, and (iii) local marketing activities.
  • Origination of SES, CMBS, MDA and other One Citi partnership deals, in partnership with CM Solutions and the broader ICG businesses.
  • Origination of Structured Lending deals (Art, Aircraft, CRE and Tailored).
  • Implement and manage the Citi Latitude strategy for the Country/Cluster in coordination with the global CPB Marketing Team.
  • Understand regional and emerging market trends to identify growth opportunities, anticipate obstacles and communicate and has a forward-looking vision that is responsive to changes in the environment.
  • Source of new product development ideas as he / she is aware of the needs of the market, competition, etc.
  • Be the face to the market, able to represent the CPB franchise in the country or cluster.
  • Measured on success - (i) a target set by the CPB LATAM Business Development Head based on NCAs delivered for CPB, and (ii) the revenue growth delivered by the partnership agreements (CPB Segments, ICG referrals, BCMA, SES, MDA, CMBS, etc.).
  • Participates in the weekly Business Development Leadership Team meetings as a senior contributor to the sales discussions and meets periodically with the CPB LATAM Business Development Head to review progress.
  • Drive client planning, cross selling, client access, within the CPB and the broader ICG in the country/cluster.
  • Participate in client discussions to understand client needs and determine opportunities for further client penetration.
  • Support pipeline generation and conversion.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, specialized analytics or related discipline
  • Broad and diverse function experience in sales, marketing, credit, acquisitions, product development and analytics
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment



EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
