C/C++ Application Programmer
Job Description:
ECS is looking for an Application Programmer II providing to a major national laboratory in Albuquerque, NM.
This project spans several departments. The organization provides server administration, architecture design implementation SW Integration and development, server support, systems integration, and network engineering.
DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITES/TASKS INCLUDE:
- Program in C/C++, Java, or Python to meet user requirements.
- Test and debug programs, functions, and services.
- Develop software to the customers best practices.
- Meet with a customer to gather requirements or demonstrate work in progress.
- Collaborate with team within agile methodology.
- Diagnose and identify issues and bugs, and implement applications.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's in a relevant STEM field plus six (6) years relevant experience; OR equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Strong software development skills in C/C++.
- At least two (2) years Unix/Linux experience.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment (unclassified/classified).
- DOE L Clearance or DOD TS equivalent, with ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance and SCI.

- UI/UX web development.

- Continuous Improvement/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
- Configuration Management.
- Orbital mechanics.
- Containerization (Docker preferred).
- Algorithms and machine learning.
- Multi-threading.
- Large-scale (1M+ lines of code) systems.
- Experience with Java or Python.
- Experience with Git software version control.
- Experience working with large, established codebases.
- Experience in UI design and data visualization with associated UI tools.
- Experience with Agile software development practices.
- Ability to obtain SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph.
