We are looking for a C++ Engineer to join the Podcast Ad Monetization team to drive engineering leadership and practices. In this role you will be delivering features that will help scale Spotify’s podcast ad revenue to the benefit of creators, advertisers all while trying to maintain a user-first ad experience that’s personalized and relevant. Your work will impact the way the world experiences podcasts and allow the next generation of podcast creators to live off their work.

What you'll do

  • Support features with robust and flexible metadata fetching from backend, caching, and querying in the Spotify client
  • Contribute to the shared C++ library powering our mobile and desktop clients
  • Use Big Data to understand and improve user experience
  • Enable low latency playback even in the most ambitious network conditions
  • Make sure off lining content works optimally and intuitively
  • Ensure quality through automated testing

Who you are

  • You craft, develop and maintain C++ code in symbiosis with a handful of other languages
  • You are able to write clear, modular, maintainable code that will perform on many platforms and devices
  • You have an interest in networking and data synchronization
  • Cooperation with others while solving sophisticated problems is natural for you and you really want to make a difference
  • End-user experience, high quality, agile values and modern engineering practices are what drives you
  • You have been working for a couple of years with software development and probably have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent such as Physics or Electrical Engineering
  • You have strong written and spoken communication skills in English
