Job Description

The "Issuance and Tokenization Platform" is responsible for building a scalable global platform that gives customers of PayPal an instant, secure and friction-free access to their money. The platform enables the next generation of commerce experiences for PayPal and its partners. The Issuance and Tokenization Engineering team is responsible for the creation and lifecycle management of financial access instruments. These access instruments include plastic cards, mobile devices, and single-use tokens and allow consumers to securely use their PayPal wallet or other underlying financial instruments during in-store, online, and mobile transactions. The team is also responsible for the detokenization and validation of these instruments during the financial transaction flow. By this, the team helps propel PayPal's business aspirations of accelerating consumer acquisition, grow customer engagement, drive transaction volumes and increase transaction success rates.

Job responsibilities
As an engineer in the Issuance and Tokenization team here at PayPal, you will be responsible to design, build and test some of the breakthrough financial offerings for the company
You will collaborate with your peer engineers in the team, product managers in an agile and fast paced environment.
We take pride in the quality and reliability of our systems and you will also further that notion in partnering with operations to ensure monitoring, alerting of the system ensuring high availability and reliability of the systems.

Requirements• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related major - with 1 to 2 years of prior work experience preferred• Strong applied experience. You've built, broken, and rebuilt software applications.• We're looking for creative thinkers who also know how to create real-world products.• Hands-on experience working with Java and building micro services.• Very strong foundational knowledge in Object-Oriented Design Principles, Data Structures, Algorithms, SQL/NoSQL, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering• Understanding around concepts like Web Services, SOA, REST APIs• A constant desire to grow, learn, and explore new things• You demonstrate pride in ownership and strive for excellence
