Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as DevSecOps Engineer. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country and the livelihood of our fellow citizens. Successful candidates must possess expert level knowledge and experience in designing, migrating, and implementing complex solutions as well as experience with migrations inclusive of a hybrid of public cloud and private cloud environments. This position will be customer-facing and consist of a variety of delivery of business transformation technology projects, as well as providing consulting services for next-generation infrastructure solutions and projects as they relate to cloud solutions. 

Responsibilities

• Working on-site with Federal customers in the DC Metro area on their requirements, understanding their current environment, and performing gap analysis.
• Testing and supporting a pilot of the services.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to both advise senior leadership, as well as provide a leadership role to engineers who as technically adapt as you are.
• Manage the continual operations and maintenance of systems operated in the MAG environment through the continual use of DevOps practices.
• Manage the migration of multiple systems from on-premise architectures to azure PaaS based architectures leveraging Microsoft DevOps tool to deploy systems in a Microsoft Azure for Government (MAG) environment.
• Manage the continual operations and maintenance of systems operated in the MAG environment through the continual use of DevOps practices.
• Directly interface with the client on a regular basis provide presentations from time to time.
• Producing well written, technical detailed articles (documents) that are tailored specifically to the customer’s environment, objectives and requirements.
• Must be able to speak clearly and communicate effectively (both written and verbally) with the customer’s technical staff as well as management team. Prior experience in supporting one or more cloud infrastructure migration projects is essential.

Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of comparable experience.
• Current Microsoft Certification or be able to show proof of working towards obtaining one in the near future.
• At least 2+ years of experience supporting similar projects.
• Possess excellent communication skills and be able to communicate efficiently and effectively. This includes both verbally as well as written communications with particular emphasis on being able to produce well written technical documentation.
• Able to work well with clients and team members of all levels.
• Understand that we are here to help our customers succeeded and possess a positive ‘can-do’ attitude with a strong commitment to customer support.
• Experience designing and building Azure virtual data centers including ARM templates, network architecture, perimeter security, and ASR.
• Experience building Azure governance including subscription design, resource groups, and RBAC policies.
• Have hands-on experience with Azure IaaS and Paas.
• Maintain and improve the security posture of the Azure platform, identifying, and remediating vulnerabilities by using a variety of security tools.
• Provide cyber security expertise in the analysis, assessment, development, and evaluation of security solutions and architectures to secure applications, operating systems, databases, and networks.
• Implement and configure security controls and policies, manage access to data, and monitor threats to ensure that apps, containers, infrastructure, and networks are protected.
• Implementing threat protection and responding to security incident escalations.
• Automate security controls, data, and processes to provide better metrics and operational support using security-as-code.
• Configure access within a cloud solution environment using the defense-in-depth principle.
• Configure network security including in a hybrid context with traditional network centric controls.
• Ensure data protection.
• Manage operations within a cloud solution environment such as operations tasks, using cloud native tools, like Log Analytics, Azure Monitor and Azure Security Center or other monitoring tooling.
• Support our cloud engineers to implement security best-practices and enable secure development and release processes.
• Ensure compliance.
• Deliver/update documentation (e.g., operational tasks).
• Be part of a multidisciplinary DevOps team which takes ownership of both new development and operational activities.
