AWS RDS Oracle Engineer
Job Description The Platform Services Database Product Line is responsible for defining, developing, engineering and operating Database products consumed by our Application Development Partners across the firm. Our Product Portfolio includes Private and Public Cloud offerings.
As a Software Engineer you will work as part of the Oracle team in Platform Services enabling key Oracle features in line with JP Morgan's control policies.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
Enablement of AWS RDS Oracle and additional public cloud oracle offerings in the future. As a Software Engineer you will play an important role in the design and development of public cloud Oracle offering. You will work closely with our development teams responsible for our internal cloud offering Gaia Oracle Services (GOS) You will bring your past experience to a talented group to further evolve the technical capabilities of our organization, drive improvements across our SDLC and unlock new cloud capabilities for our clients.
All roles in Platform Services are expected to continuously collaborate across all cloud product offerings.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Practical experience of AWS
- Strong experience in at least one programming language, preferably Python
- Ability to dive into complex problems to troubleshoot and implement functional solutions
- Strong programming skills - needs to be able to code, leverage APIs, and understand security, authentication and data structures.
- Understand cloud native design principals, recognize opportunities to leverage native services to meet our goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the core foundational services of cloud providers - IAM, Compute, Serverless (e.g Lambda), managed database offerings etc
- Understanding of key cloud network concepts (Direct Connect/Interconnect, VPC, Transit networks, security groups/firewalls)
- Experience with Terraform
