Overview & Responsibilities
As a Cloud Software Engineer for John Deere Financial (JDF) based in Johnston, IA , your role will involve developing and implementing cloud solutions that will shape the future of JDF's cloud architecture strategy.
More specifically, you will:
- Maintain a collaborative working relationship with other Deere application delivery teams to build John Deere's cloud knowledge base
- Ensure reusability and efficiency in the design, build, and support processes for cloud-hosted infrastructure
- Apply and build upon cloud best practices, standards, and documentation for JDF's cloud-hosted environments
- Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting issues related to cloud-hosted solutions and drive towards problem resolution and prevention

What Skills You Need
- 2+ years of cloud software development experience and strong familiarity with using scripting and automation tools
- 2+ years of expertise in Amazon Web Services
- A year or more of experience working with CI/CD orchestration and tools
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
What Makes You Stand Out
- 2+ years of software development experience utilizing Java, React, Python, and REST APIs within Agile DevOps environments utilizing TDD, pairing, and CI/CD
- Strong knowledge of complex AWS cloud architectures within multi-account AWS landscapes
- Proficiency in utilizing containers for deploying, patching, and scaling
- Ability to present and teach technical information to audiences with limited technical backgrounds
- Utilization of Jenkins for CI/CD and familiarity with using Terraform for production infrastructure
Education
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, an equivalent career certificate OR equivalent related work experience
