Building Construction products (BCP), within Construction Industries (CI), is looking for an experienced, passionate, and diverse engineer to develop automation controls. This person will collaborate with key internal and external technology partners. This job will be located at the Clayton Machine Development Center in Clayton, North Carolina.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Integrate autonomous software stack into machine controls
- Creatively deliver our automation roadmap for BCP products and services
- Partner with dedicated customers who embrace the business proposition
- Collaborate with Cat Robotics and other CI groups within Caterpillar to align roadmaps and plans
- Work with third parties and internal providers that can help fulfill BCP’s expanded offerings
- Drive development beyond traditional component levels that integrate with site solutions
- On-machine development at Clayton Machine Development Center and at customer sites
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computers
- 3 years controls development
- 2+ years model-based development with MATLAB SIMULINK
- Experience with CAN/J1939 communication protocols
- Some travel is required (< 10%)
