Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Automation Engineer located in Memphis, TN.

Reporting to the Sr. Test Engineering Manager / NPI Manager the Automation Engineer performs automation development activities to support multiple accounts in reverse and forward logistics operation. You will be part of a highly motivated team of test engineers and process engineers that directly supports forward and reverse logistic operations. Your primary focus will be providing automation engineering support for all forward and reverse logistics businesses including pick-pack-ship operation, same unit repair, postponement services, warehousing operation, refurbishment services, late customization, system & functional test operation.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Support all accounts within reverse logistics and fulfillment operation as automation engineering to define and drive automation opportunity projects. Warehouse Automation - Design and Execute Automation Commercialization projects that create efficiency and drive operating savings. This effort includes warehouse automation projects that may drive, waste reduction, equipment reliability, or overall operational efficiency with the warehouse environment.
  • Support and interaction with team members including Internal and external customers, suppliers, hardware engineers, test engineers, process engineers, IT personals, operational management, program management, and senior leadership
  • Must have experience and knowledge to drive automation projects in front of internal management, external customers, vendors, and engineering personals to discuss project planning and to resolve operational issues utilizing automation equipment's
  • Brings automation solution and ideas within forward and reverse logistics operation & warehousing operation to improve processes and reduce overall operational cost.
  • Develop statements of work for both internal and external suppliers of automation solutions by coordinating across. Must be able to work in flexible hours and be able to participates in any business-related travels to perform training sessions, project transfer, or problem resolution related activities for all automation projects



The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with concentration in automation engineering discipline and typically at least 5 or more years of automation engineering experience and multi-disciplinary customer supporting accounts.
  • Ability to manage multiple automation projects within forward and reverse logistics operation
  • Support PLC based controls systems on large-scale automated pick-pack-ship line including warehouse management system
  • Troubleshoot and support various PLC & controls systems including Allen-Bradley, Omron, & Siemens.
  • Support the advancement of automation and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in logistic & repair processes by working closely with the test engineering group, process engineering group and IT
  • Creates and implements process related dashboards & HMIs for process monitoring and operator communication
  • Proficiency in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required.
