Job Description:
ECS is looking for an Automation Engineer, providing support for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM! This position allows for remote work to be performed.
As an Automation Engineer, you will be working with the Application Programming team. This team provides modern IT Configuration Management (CM) Platforms and Enterprise IT Services for Linux and Infrastructure. This organization is responsible for the design and operation of technologies and processes to ensure IT systems are reliable, consistent, and secure throughout the lifecycle of the system.
As an Automation Engineer, you will work to build, improve, and maintain the client's automation coverage across the Enterprise platform, working across the data and web layers and integrating new advanced AI & ML capabilities. You will be part of a high-performance team working on our private scale analytics platform.
DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITES/TASKS INCLUDE:
- Develop methodology best suited to the given project to support operational business needs and continuity of services.
- Create both end-to-end and integration tests.
- Perform testing activities, seek functional clarity from stakeholders where required, and collaborate on acceptance criteria, manual testing, and automation.
- Proactively communicate to your team and customer and operations manager on your work status and seek any help required.
- Write moderately complex code to mock-out services for supporting testing activities.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and ceremonies (daily scrum meetings, planning meetings, demos, and retrospective meetings).
- Provide Linux server administration plan, design, specify, deploy, and maintain server systems.
- Support all SNL cyber policy in all design, specification, deployment, and maintenance of systems.
Required Skills:
- Active DOE "Q" clearance or reciprocal DOD "Top Secret".
- AA with 4 years related job experience or in lieu of AA 7 years job related experience.
- Knowledge and experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
- Experience in a Linux Operating (OS), including file management, scripting, editing, and security.
- Automation test experience and deep domain knowledge in terms of quality assurance.
- Experience with a variety of programming languages, software, or tools to develop regular or ad-hoc queries from large data-sets.
- Familiar with network communication protocols, and other related protocols.
- Ability to implement solutions integrating Rest Application Program Interface (API) based web services.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with Agile working environment.
