Responsibilities

As an Assistant Director- Engineering in our IDI IT area, you'll play a critical role as a transformational leader helping to implement modern technology and grow the team's engineering skills. We are modernizing our business capabilities and technologies, improving the customer experience, and streamlining our business operations. We need someone who can lead the team through this exciting work!

This is a formal leadership role managing a team of engineers as well as working closely with our implementation partners and other leaders across the globe.

Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you'll do:

  • Identify business growth opportunities enabled by technology and execute against those opportunities.
  • Communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as business objectives to the technical team.
  • Create a culture of clear accountability. Motivate every single employee to take action and engage employees with a compelling mission and vision.
  • Create strategy and paint the picture for others surrounding appropriate principles and practices that result in a stable, valuable delivery system.
  • Evaluate new technology developments. Consult and communicate with business partners to understand business strategy and make recommendations on future technical trends/directions that encompass multiple systems and teams to meet business strategic initiatives.
  • Manage and develop staff in an effective manner to promote individual development and ensure success in a team environment.
  • Build strong partnerships with external partners and help to manage to milestones.
  • Develop and manage departmental budget, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Understand overall business and technology architecture. Quickly break down complex problems into potential solutions; knowns and unknowns, in order to get to resolutions faster.
  • Anticipate problems and drive change to combat problems. Understand the cause-and-effect relationship of changes introduced.
  • Lead delivery of major initiatives on clear timelines. Establish priorities for technical resource allocation and systems direction that contribute to the profitable growth of the company.



Qualifications

We're looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) or equivalent experience, plus 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Formal leadership, prefer 4+ years of leadership experience
  • Vendor Management experience preferred
  • Transformational leadership highly preferred
  • Excellent leadership, problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills are required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary
  • Must work to gain overall knowledge of the organization, as well as broad knowledge of the technology functions of the company



Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$127000 - $179000 / year

This position may require on-call responsibilities.
