Associate Sustainable Commercial Aircraft Design and Analysis EngineerCompany:The Boeing CompanyJob ID:00000282197Date Posted:2021-11-03-07:00Location:USA - Long Beach, CAJob Description Qualifications: The Boeing Company is looking for a Associate Sustainable Commercial Aircraft Design and Analysis Engineer to support BCA in Long Beach, California.The role participates in planning and performing synthesis of conceptual/preliminary aerospace/aeronautical vehicles. Supports vehicle configuration designs from customer requirements. Performs trade studies for performance, structural adequacy, cost effectiveness and regulatory requirements. Successful candidate should have basic knowledge in the areas of: Aircraft design knowledge, Aircraft performance, Systems thinking, Model development, Alternative energy and propulsion and Environment and emissions.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.Position Responsibilities:

  • Aircraft sizing to mission requirements.
  • Aircraft performance analysis, including fuel burn and mission trajectory.
  • Creating tools, models, and methods to support aircraft design efforts.
  • Calculate life cycle environmental emissions for aircraft, both existing and new concepts, or utilizing new energy sources or alternative fuels.
  • Researching and applying new technologies to reduce the environmental impact of current and future products.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science engineering degree and 2+ years of professional experience or Masters of Science engineering degree.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with lifecycle analysis and inventory tools.
  • Familiarity with 14044 ISO standards as applied to transportation and energy industries.
  • Knowledge of emissions modeling and metrics and emission/climate interaction.
  • Familiarity with global environmental regulations.

Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
