Associate Advanced Concepts Engineer - Commercial AircraftCompany:The Boeing CompanyJob ID:00000288386Date Posted:2021-12-07-08:00Location:USA - Long Beach, CAJob Description Qualifications:Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Associate Advanced Concepts Engineer - Commercial Aircraft to support our team in Long Beach, CA.The Advanced Concepts team studies new aircraft and aerospace technologies for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, it includes experts from all aircraft design disciplines and configuration synthesis engineers that bring that information together to create the best concepts. There are many opportunities for the early career engineer to learn from this great team and help define the commercial aircraft of tomorrow and beyond.Position Responsibilities:

  • Conceptual design and analysis of commercial aircraft, including the application of new technologies or configurations
  • Creating 3-D models and engineering drawings
  • Working with a team of experts to perform multidisciplinary analysis and optimization
  • Performing aircraft level trade studies
  • Aircraft sizing to mission requirements, including model development
  • Researching new technologies and evaluating their impacts on the aviation system

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or greater in an engineering related field
  • 2+ years engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Has a graduate degree or at least 2 years of industry experience
  • Experienced in creating 3-D models and drawings using CATIA or other industry standard software.
  • Previously worked in a multidisciplinary team in a professional environment.
  • Capable of conveying complex engineering information to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.

Education/ Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
