Role/Responsibilities

An Associate Director- Software Engineer fulfils the following responsibilities, with occasional guidance of more senior team members:

  • Provide expert level advice on multiple technologies across projects
  • Develop tools and processes to support KYC services and management of client data.
  • Interpret business requirements for a Business Mission/Epic with the assistance of Business Analysts.
  • Provide feedback on requirements from a technical perspective and help provide estimates for user stories and tasks.
  • Author technical documents for the running and troubleshooting of internal and customer facing applications.
  • Assist with the refactor of design and implementation for stories owned by software engineering based on requirement changes.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance engineers to investigate defects.
  • Investigate and find the root cause for software problems reported by clients.
  • Assist with client onboarding and troubleshoot periodic data issues.
  • Develop tools to automate frequent manual tasks.
  • Maintain technical documents related to the running and troubleshooting of internal and customer facing applications.
  • Assist with the review of code of less senior team members and provide guidance from a technical perspective.
  • Work with more senior team members to continuously improve our engineering practices.
  • Mentor more junior engineers.
  • Conduct training sessions and proactively share knowledge in or across teams.



Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related major from top institutions, Masters degree is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of Object Oriented design and development
  • 7+ years of professional software design and development experience on multi-tiered enterprise applications.
  • Proficient in data access techniques for both relational and NoSQL databases
  • Works well within the constructs of an agile development process, including SCRUM, Unit Testing, Continuous Build and Integration, etc and suggests improvement to this process
  • Quickly learns new technologies; proactively seeks to improve
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to participate in multiple projects concurrently and to own a business mission or a lead a small team
  • Works well in a fast-paced team environment; able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Has superb analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Competent in Programming Languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, Perl, SQL, HTML/HTML5, CSS2/3, XML, XSLT, etc.
  • Competent in Development tools: Visual Studio, Eclipse (CDT), IntelliJ IDEA, WebStorm, etc.
  • Competent in Development Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Linux.
  • Competent in Application Servers: JBoss/Wildfly, Tomcat, etc.
  • Competent in Application Frameworks & Engines: J2SE, J2EE, JDBC, Spring, ORM frameworks such as Hibernate or iBatis,
  • Familiar with API testing tools: Postman, SoapUI.
  • Familiar with Databases: PostgreSQL, MySql, MongoDB, etc.
  • Competent in Others: Jira, SVN, Git, Jenkins, etc.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $109,200 to $181,600, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
