Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise IT principles, standards, and healthcare industry standards and regulations
  • Responsible for intake scoping, solution concepts and initial cost estimation; system architecture definition at the logical level
  • Define architecture blueprint for end-to-end systems to including integration of applications, systems, platforms and technical infrastructure
  • Work closely with solution engineering, development teams and vendors to ensure that a coherent and consistent approach to design, implementation and integration is achieved
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance to delivery teammates including reference implementation, design patterns and best practice guidelines
  • Teach and mentor solution engineering and technical teams on solution building blocks
  • Analyzing the technology environment and various components involved, including Database, Network, and other Infrastructure components
  • Work with Business/Systems Analysts to understand the Business requirements, and create the corresponding blueprint for implementing various technology components of a new system
  • Develop product/solution roadmaps and strategies
  • Work with development teams to resolve technical queries, and helping teams implement the defined solution
  • Develop solution strategy including identification of core components necessary to meet functional requirements and facilitate solution validation review
  • Manage the development and documentation of integrated technical, operational, and systems solutions within standards defined with EA
  • Tie architectural vision together across all IT and business initiatives, projects
  • Support Operations/IT Solution Managers/EAs/Developers/QA/Managers/Executives as application Architecture Subject Matter Expert
  • Build relationship with Optum IT, EA, vendors and other application counterparts to align the technical solutions strategically with the enterprise as well as the industry
  • Provide technical and business leadership, and be the point of contact for all architectural questions
  • Analyze potential solution components offered by third parties. Work with technical, operational, sales and management teams to determine what third-party products and services should be included in the solution
  • Capitalizes on CI, CD, DevOps tools and best practices to implement agility and quality
  • Infuses a mindset of agility, quality and performance with a focus on value driven deliverables

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years or more of strong hands-on experience with Java Enterprise Edition (Java/J2EE) and web technologies
  • 8+ years of technical experience with application integration: SOA, Web Services, RESTful, Message Queue solutions using SOAP, JSON, XML, Java/ J2ee
  • 3+ years of experience in an architecture role, designing end-to-end, enterprise solutions across the complete systems development lifecycle
  • 3+ years of experience with the Spring frameworks
  • 3+ years of experience with automated unit testing technologies (Such as JUnit, Spock, or similar), SCA and mock data frameworks
  • 2+ years of solid Agile experience (Scrum, Kanban and XP preferred)
  • 2+ years of DevOps experience (Strong experience needed in Devops to support Application).CI/CD
  • Knowledge of web security, application security, web services security, common vulnerability remediation, certificate management
  • Solid knowledge in OO Design Principles, core OOPS, JEE Design patterns as well as their implementation in real world applications
  • Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), RESTful Web Services, microservices experience
