Primary Responsibilities:

  • As a Solutions Architect, you will ensure that we are building enterprise information systems that are truly aligned with the business by engaging in the following activities
  • For any given project, quickly absorb the business drivers, and assess the IT assets needed to create the capabilities required to fulfill the business vision and requirements
  • Understand the Enterprise Architecture roadmap, influence to Modernize architectures
  • Research, identify, and recommend Modern Architecture patterns for solving business problems
  • Rapidly navigate between high-level business vision, through Product/Capability/System level requirements, identify architecturally significant changes to provide Solution specification
  • Identify candidate solution approaches, and model cost-benefit tradeoffs of each
  • Rapidly develop a Conceptual model of the chosen solution, and document using a combination of text, diagrams and human interactions
  • Collaborate to enable team - business, development, operations - to align to conceptual models
  • Create the solution documentation (Agile Solution Intent and Software Models) that will provide both a basis for project sign-off by all stakeholders, and the foundation Product Teams
  • Cultivate role as trusted advisor of all parties (business, RTE and Delivery)
  • Gracefully transition solution leadership to the Product/Delivery team, once the solution is clearly understood, documented and under development
  • Leverage your experience, versatility and quick-learning to jump in when and where needed to help the project through sticking points
  • Provider Governance and Oversight to guide implementation with enterprise architecture direction
  • Guide and mentor the work of other architects assigned to the project
  • Seek opportunities to create efficiencies or advance architectural agenda, by identifying reusable assets
  • Take leadership role in delivering and driving solution strategy at scale
  • technologies across the organization. In senior level roles, leads business solutions, capabilities, and is a solid influencer that engages with client executives and stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience architecting products against and using Kafka is a must specifically eventing patterns, event driven development, etc.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. MongoDB, SQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra)
  • Experience architecting/designing scalable systems
  • Experience in collaborating with Business/Product Managers to understand business needs to aligning architecture/solution options with business needs
  • Experience with applying and harvesting software patterns
  • Experience with delivering Agile Software Architectures & software models
  • Experience in navigating in a complex enterprise, be able to take initiative and influence Enterprise Architecture direction (Business and IT capabilities)
  • Experience working with diverse Global Team
  • Technical background i.e. software development, systems development, etc.
  • Expert in Modern Eventing Architecture, Microservices, DevOps & Cloud native Architecture patterns

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
