HDR is looking for an Application Developer, driven by innovation and a desire to make a difference, to join our growing and a nationally ranked team of professionals. We are seeking developers who enjoy what they do, like working with teams, and searching for new ideas; someone who can appropriately apply technology to solve problems and provide services to our clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Working in a professional environment with a national team of developers, geospatial analysts, engineers, scientists, business analysts, and planners.
- The ability to effectively participate in remote teams with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical, is required.
- Successful candidates will have the opportunity to support development projects while developing skills to plan and design solutions, develop database schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals.
- Our projects include solutions for desktop, web, and mobile.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS or MS in Computer Science, Planning, Natural Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of practical web, mobile, and/or development experience or equivalent course work
Preferred Qualifications
- JavaScript (including ES6), HTML, and CSS(SASS/LESS)
- Responsive web design and UI frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.)
- Native mobile application development (Swift/Obj-C, Esri Runtime SDK, Xamarin)
- JavaScript frameworks (Ember, React, jQuery, etc.)
- Experience with server-side technologies (.NET C#, Entity Framework, NodeJS, etc.)
- Database design and development (MS SQL Server, Oracle)
- RESTful web services
- Cloud computing (Azure, AWS)
- Continuous integration and deployment
- Esri (ArcGIS Server/Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online)
- Development and Management
- Publishing web or feature services
- Creating SDE enabled databases
- Esri Javascript API
- Open source web mapping tools (Leaflet, Mapbox, Carto, etc.)
- Experience with SharePoint a plus
- Local candidates preferred
