We are now looking for an Android Platform Engineer to join us in our Sydney office. At Canva, we work every day to make a significant positive impact on society. Our mission is to democratise design and empower creativity for anyone and everyone, on every platform! 

As part of the Mobile Platform team, you will be impacting the mobile user experience by improving the foundations of our Android applications. You will be collaborating with your team to deliver a world class mobile product.

Your Role

• Work closely with the product team to deliver Canva’s Android offering.
• Create and ship high quality code that gets used by millions of people all over the world.
• Participate in design and code reviews.
• Engage in technical and product design discussions with the team.
• Collaborate with other team members to figure out the best solutions to difficult engineering problems.

Your Skills

• Android application development experience.
• Experience and knowledge with Kotlin and RxJava.
• Knowledge of native Android architecture, frameworks, and the libraries.
• Computer Science / Software Engineering fundamentals.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Experience with iOS and HTML/CSS/JS are a plus.
• 4+ years of Android development experience
