Job Description

**THIS IS AN EXPATRIATE ROLE LOCATED IN THE UNITED KINGDOM (UK)**
**MUST BE A US CITIZEN**
The Air Force Program ASTRO Engineer will work closely with other engineers to execute on technical efforts to achieve the Air Force’s communications goals. The ASTRO engineer will work on a daily basis on developing a strategy to accomplish the various deficiencies, mitigations and migrations. The ASTRO Engineer will be hands-on, in-field executing on the integrations, migrations and expansion plans they have developed. The Air Force Engineering team will also serve as a point of escalation for daily sustainment activities, allowing the technical team efficiency in issue resolution, cyber remediation, SW deployments and customer relations. The engineer will also have responsibility to support account team in system design and strategy.
This individual must have superior knowledge in the technicalities deployed by ASTRO to include, advanced networking, Cyber Security principles, Active Directory Administration, ASTRO applications (UNC, PM, UEM), ESXi, HBSS, and PKI. A minimum of 5 year’s experience in LMR. Experience developing and executing ASTRO upgrades a major plus.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must be willing and able to obtain DoD Secret-level clearance as required
- Must be capable of obtaining a secret clearance within 18 months of initial employment date
- Required to lift equipment of ~ 50lbs
- Required to complete standard form SF86 questionnaire for national security positions
- Demonstrated proficiency developing, deploying and troubleshooting IP networks
- Solid ability to administer and troubleshoot in an IT-type environment
Basic Requirements
- 3+ years in IT, networking, technician, field service, system technician/specialist, radio frequency or land mobile radio.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
