Job Description

People Can Fly is looking for an AI Programmer, able to expand AI systems provided by UE4, as well as create new robust solutions. This person will also work with artists and designers on the behavior of a high variety of non-player characters, bringing to life memorable enemies of all shapes and sizes.

  • Working across multiple disciplines on the behaviors of a large variety of non-player characters, bringing to life memorable enemies of all shapes and sizes
  • Designing, implementing into the engine, and maintaining new AI features
  • Creating code and algorithms for pathfinding, group movement, and cooperation, tactical strategy.
  • Testing, debugging, profiling, optimizing, and documenting implementations
  • Actively attending code reviews

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in C/C++ with a 3D math background
  • Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience
  • Shipped title experience
  • Good understanding of AI architecture and standard technology
  • Good understanding of modern AI techniques as used in AAA games
  • Experience in programming movement, navigation, and decision-making AI
  • Game designer's creativity
  • Ability to write solid, reliable, efficient code
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Open-minded team player attitude
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated
  • Passionate about playing and making video games

Nice to have

  • Unreal Engine 4 knowledge
  • JIRA, Swarm and Perforce Knowledge
  • Experience working on a mod/title on the Unreal Engine
  • Performance and optimization skills
  • BS (or higher) in Computer Science or similar discipline (Physics, Math, EE, etc.)
