About us:

Mythic has developed a unified hardware and software platform featuring its unique Mythic Analog Compute Engine (Mythic ACE™) to deliver revolutionary power, cost, and performance that shatters digital barriers preventing AI innovation at the edge. The Mythic Analog Matrix Processor (Mythic AMP™) makes it much easier and more affordable to deploy powerful AI solutions, from the data center to the edge device. The company has raised over $165.2 million to date, has over 120 employees, and has offices in Redwood City, CA, and Austin, TX.

About the role:

Mythic is enabling the future of AI by building an analog-compute hardware platform that is 100-1000x more efficient than conventional all-digital systems. The technology developed at Mythic will pave the way for bringing cutting-edge solutions into edge applications.

This Mythic vision comes together in the AI Engineering team. We use our expertise to adapt deep learning models to Mythic's unique hardware, provide guidance to the marketing and product teams, and implement novel methodologies to train neural networks for reduced precision and real-world environments. If you are excited about implementing novel algorithms and neural network architectures to optimize AI for the world's first analog supercomputer, this role is for you.

This role is not location-specific. However, candidates will be expected to keep working hours in line with either Pacific or Central Time.

This team significantly impacts Mythic by:

  • Expanding Mythic's portfolio of computer vision models
  • Optimizing network architectures to take maximum advantage of Mythic's high performance technology
  • Improving the robustness and generalizability of analog computer neural networks in the real world
  • Making it easier for new users to take advantage of Mythic's computer vision platform

Here's what you will do:

  • Train and deploy neural networks for machine vision to showcase the strengths of mixed-signal computation
  • Work closely with the product and BD teams to understand customer needs and build working products to meet those needs
  • Adapt and optimize customers' deep learning models to Mythic's hardware
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code bases
  • Stay up-to-date with literature for neural network architectures

Here's the background we hope you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in industry training neural networks for computer vision
  • Experience training neural networks with reduced precision or other hardware-based limitations. Such as quantization-aware training, pruning, distillation, and transfer learning
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum environment that follows CI/CD and other software engineering practices
  • Experience documenting project plans and progress, providing high-level status updates to management, organizing stand-ups and other meetings
  • Comfortable writing optimized+clean Python and PyTorch code

The following would be nice to have, but is not required:

  • Previous exposure to analog and mixed-signal circuits
  • Experience working at startups
  • Experience creating new datasets and eliminating biases
  • Experience working with neural network interpretability, applied optimization, and/or statistical learning
  • Experience with other Neural Network frameworks (Tensorflow, Caffe, ONNX)
  • Familiarity with C++, Cython, and/or CUDA
  • Experience with edge deployment pipelines: e.g. gstreamer or opencv
  • Published code portfolio
