This team is critical to achieving GM's vision of Zero Emissions, Zero Crashes, and Zero Congestion.
In this role you will be responsible for the architectural design and integration of high-voltage, lithium-ion battery packs that are planned to go into mass production. This critical role drives cross-functional collaboration with pack sub-system owners responsible for modules, electrical hardware, structures, and thermal systems to evaluate trade-offs between sub-systems and ensure all content is packaged and able to be assembled in high-volume production. In addition, this role is responsible for collaborating with the vehicle teams external to the battery pack to ensure optimal packaging space is allocated to the pack.

- Lead technical trade-off studies within the battery pack to select optimal designs from many alternatives and support the propulsion and vehicle teams with trade-off studies external to the battery pack
- Delegate tasks to the sub-system teams to optimize the battery pack design while achieving program requirements and timing
- Partner with the Vehicle Compartment Integration Teams to ensure appropriate space is allocated to the battery pack to achieve program requirements and CAD models are prepared for vehicle-level CAE analysis.
- Partner with the Virtual Design, Development, & Validation (VDDV) Team to utilize virtual tools which assess the performance of battery pack designs against program requirements.
- Collaborate with Battery Pack Technical Specialists to ensure pack and sub-system designs are consistent with the Bill-of-Design & Bill-of-Materials strategies.
- Provide status updates and presentations on intended battery pack designs to leadership.
- During the Balance Architecture Development Phase, deliver a battery pack design solution with supporting analyses to confirm performance status vs requirements while meeting packaging constraints.
- After the Balance Architecture Development Phase, provide consulting support to the Battery Execution Teams as the battery pack is sourced and launched into production.
