Required Skills and Experience
A qualified candidate will exhibit significant experience across the following areas:
• 7-10 years in Network design, test and implementation and support• Complete, working knowledge of SDN and NFV• SD-WAN Technologies including Cisco, Viptela, Versa• Firewall Technologies including Palo Alto, Fortigate• Cisco ENCS platforms• Network experience - routing/switching/firewalls (CCNA level) CCNP level• Complete working knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP-TE and MPLS• Verizon's Network offerings, PIP, Public IP, Ethernet Access, SCI• Knowledge of Verizon's Cloud Partners such as AWS, Azure, etc., as well as Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud deployments and intricacies• Experience in Linux system administration (RedHat/Debian)• Solid programming skills in Python and BASH scripting• Solid API skills including JSON, YAML and XML• Experience with network testing tools including Spirent, Ixia and Viavi.• Experience with cloud platforms, orchestration, and VNF managers• Experience with large scale zero touch server provisioning• Experience with Heat templates and OVF based VNF descriptors• Experience onboarding VNFs on to NFV Orchestrators• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to adjust the messaging based on the audience• Proven ability to shape transformation strategies and drive innovative thinking• Ability to think and evaluate issues holistically and in a wider context• Deep experience with Excel, Sheets, Power Point, Visio, Adobe, Word etcwith ability to create design, engineering and design guides/aides• Self-starter with experience and skill at delivering outcomes even in the absence of clear direction.

Preferred Skills and Experience• Professional/Expert Level Industry Certifications such as CCIE, CCDE, CCNP, VCP• Specialist/Certifications such as RCSA, RCSP (Riverbed), Cisco WAN Optimization, Cisco Unified Communications, SD-WAN, Security• BS/BA in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related areas
