We are seeking a unique role as a Network & Telephony Engineer III with expertise in RingCentral, a leading cloud communications and collaboration platform, along with additional networking experience. As your primary role of a Telephony Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of RingCentral's telephony solutions. You will work closely with our internal teams to ensure seamless integration of RingCentral into our communication infrastructure, as well as provide ongoing support to optimize the performance and reliability of our telephony systems.
Additionally, as a Network Engineer, you will help support our networking framework and move us toward a resilient, robust, and secure network across all our locations. We’re looking for a person who has knowledge of current best-practices regarding security, network design, cloud integration, telephony, audio-visual, and the positive energy to ensure we further our platforms.
You will be helping to support our entire enterprise, as well as software engineering teams, security, and other technology functions as we build the next wave of technologies that will drive our resident experience to the next level.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement telephony solutions using RingCentral, based on business requirements and best practices.
- Configure and customize RingCentral features, including call routing, IVR menus, call queues, voicemail, and call forwarding, to meet the organization's needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RingCentral with other business systems, such as CRM, helpdesk, and collaboration tools.
- Perform system administration tasks, including user provisioning, system upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor and analyze telephony system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for call quality, reliability, and scalability.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of RingCentral configurations to ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Provide end-user support and training on RingCentral features and functionality.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, features, and enhancements in the RingCentral platform and recommend improvements or new capabilities to enhance business communication.
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to resolve telephony-related issues and escalate to higher-level support if necessary.
- Design and implement complex nationwide networks (WAN, LAN, VPC, VLAN)
- Documentation of all networks, including diagrams, and run books
- Troubleshoot complex network issues including site to site, and site to cloud instances
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
- Perform scheduled maintenance and equipment KLO, sometimes after hours
- Keep apprised of current licensing and contracts regarding network equipment
- Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
- Set standards for enterprise AV equipment, including installation and training
- Participate in any audits and have germane information ready and properly documented
- Work with networking vendor to ensure security and configuration of networks
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years in network engineering and telephony system management
- Extensive knowledge in RingCentral telephony
- Strong knowledge in network engineering, Fortinet experience preferred
- Seasoned in audio video standards and hardware, Zoom and Poly preferred
- Deep understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
- SDWAN expertise
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Transit gateway experience
- AWS VPC configuration and management
- In-depth knowledge of endpoint security and best practices
- Intrusion detection experience and configuration
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
- Proven experience as a RingCentral Telephony Engineer
- Strong knowledge of telephony protocols and technologies, including SIP, RTP, VoIP, and PSTN
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting IP telephony systems, gateways, and SIP trunking
- Experience with telephony integrations, including CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), helpdesk platforms, and collaboration tools
- Familiarity with network concepts and protocols, such as LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
- AWS VPC configuration and management
- Knowledge of subnetting, NAT and creating VLANs
- Knowledge with firewalls best-practices, configuring, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- Background in network administration
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Ring Central Admin certification preferred
- Fortinet NSE 4 certification preferred

- 25%-50% travel required
- Prior experience in similar roles within a mid to large-sized organization

- Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; overtime may be required for this position
Physical and Mental Demands
This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate. Salary Range$82,800.00 - $143,520.00Compensation and Benefits
