Role Summary:

In this position, you will support the development and coordination of emergency management programs and services within Rivian. Supporting the Specialist, Emergency Response, you will act as a point of contact for a wide network of Rivian stakeholders and provide guidance and training regarding all aspects of emergency prevention, protection, planning, preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery.  In this position, you will support multiple operations and provide coordination services during emergency activations.  You are comfortable working with a wide variety of stakeholders as a conduit of support and fostering inter-department communications for emergency management matters. In addition, the position supports and drives continuous improvement at multiple sites while working with team members to identify solutions to EHS and emergency management challenges

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized and can understand complex regulations and communicate them effectively to a variety of groups with diverse interests and backgrounds.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills would benefit this position greatly as this person will have to influence others and work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and coordination of emergency management programs and services (e.g. prevention, protection, emergency preparedness, response, mitigation and recovery) consistent with the local/federal frameworks and best practices.
  • Supports and guides the coordination of emergency management planning, preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives including planning, exercises, and training.
  • Support the identification and mitigation of emergency management-related issues (e.g. identifies hazards, conducts risk assessments and implements mitigation strategies)
  • Effectively teach others to assess risk, identify hazards, and implement appropriate controls.
  • Supports, reviews, and evaluates emergency response and recovery and provides analysis and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Participate, plan, develop, and facilitate emergency incident/response training and exercises
  • Prepare, and submit, environmental and safety reports for compliance.
  • Perform job duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines, including Cal-OSHA and Cal-EPA.
  • A clear understanding of FEMA and local emergency management standards
  • Willingness to learn international emergency management standards
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Inspect facilities to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Identify risk and issue corrective actions, as needed.
  • Assist in completing risk assessments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma, training, or extensive experience in emergency management
  • 5+ years experience working in emergency management within an ICS structure.
  • Proficient knowledge of safety, emergency management and environmental regulations.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating the delivery of emergency management programs (e.g. identifying and addressing natural hazards, conducting risk assessments and coordinating emergency preparedness, response, mitigation and recovery).
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to travel
