About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Echocardiographer to join our multidisciplinary team in Birmingham. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality, independent echocardiographic assessments using our advanced diagnostic equipment. You will be responsible for performing and interpreting transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), providing immediate and accurate reports without the need for cardiologist oversight.

In this role, you will spend one day per week working from our clinic in the heart of Birmingham.

If you're an accredited Echocardiographer passionate about leveraging technology to enhance patient outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive transthoracic echocardiographic examinations in accordance with British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) standards.
  • Independently interpret and report echocardiographic findings, ensuring timely delivery of results to clients and referring clinicians.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to integrate echocardiographic findings into holistic health assessments.
  • Participate in regular cardiology multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Liaise directly with our cardiologist where needed.
  • Understand and follow our escalation protocols.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including audit and peer review, to maintain high standards of practice.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the training of junior staff or students as appropriate.

What we are looking for

  • BSE Level 2 Transthoracic Echocardiography Accreditation or equivalent, enabling independent reporting of echocardiographic studies without cardiologist review.
  • More than two years experience post BSE level 2 accreditation.
  • Proven experience in performing and interpreting a wide range of echocardiographic studies. Ability to perform Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS is essential).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Commitment to maintaining high clinical standards and engaging in ongoing professional development.

Desirable to have

  • Ability to perform 3D imaging.
  • Familiarity with integrating echocardiographic data into broader health assessments or preventive health strategies.
  • Previous involvement in health technology initiatives or research projects.

We offer a dynamic work environment with a high degree of autonomy that fosters growth and development. If you are passionate about building a better healthcare system for everyone and you thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you!

Please note: we perform background and reference checks as part of our interview process.
