Overview
The Director of Software Engineering is a strategic leader responsible for shaping technical vision, driving innovation, and ensuring delivery excellence across multiple engineering teams. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership to deliver high-quality, customer-centric solutions that align with business objectives.
Role
Leadership & Strategy• Define and execute the engineering roadmap aligned with organizational goals.• Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.• Champion best practices and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.
Technical Excellence• Oversee architecture and design for cloud-native platforms and microservices.• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevOps, and automated testing.• Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and resilient.
Delivery & Operations• Manage end-to-end delivery of software products, ensuring quality and timeliness.• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver impactful solutions.• Monitor KPIs and implement strategies for operational efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement• Communicate technical decisions and project updates to senior leadership.• Build strong partnerships across cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
All about you
Qualifications• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.• Years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.• Proven track record of managing large, distributed engineering teams.• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), microservices architecture, and API design.• Strong knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, C++) and modern frameworks.• Experience with Agile methodologies and scaling engineering practices.
Preferred Skills• Strategic thinking with ability to align technology and business priorities.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Familiarity with emerging technologies and ability to drive innovation.• Budget management and resource allocation experience.
