At Goodwin, we work with some of the world’s most successful and innovative investors, entrepreneurs and disruptors in the life sciences, private equity, real estate, technology and financial industries, and where they converge. As part of the Global Operations Team – all business professionals at the firm – you’ll collaborate with colleagues from varied backgrounds and experiences, fostering an environment where cross-functional learning, networking, and collaboration are at the core of what we do.
Here, we’re not just supporting a law firm; we’re partnering with attorneys and clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions in high-stakes litigation and dispute resolution, world-class regulatory compliance and advisory services, and complex transactions. Our commitment to integrity, ingenuity, agility, and ambition drives us, and we’re proud to have been recognised as the “Best Business Team” by The American Lawyer.
This is your opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic, global environment, surrounded by forward-thinking peers.

The Director, Opportunity, Inclusion, and Belonging (OIB) will serve as a senior leader and strategic partner in shaping a workplace culture where inclusion and belonging are foundational to the Goodwin experience. Reporting to the Managing Director, Culture & Impact, this role will lead the firm’s OIB strategy – ensuring that all employees, across roles and geographies, have equal access to opportunity and feel a deep sense of connection and value within the firm.

As a key member of the Culture & Impact leadership team, the Director will drive programming and initiatives that embed inclusion across every stage of the employee lifecycle, while contributing meaningfully across three additional areas: Culture & Engagement, Experience & Onboarding, and Purpose & Impact. This role will collaborate closely with People/Talent, Communications, and senior leadership to build programs and experiences that reflect the voices of Goodwin’s people and foster a culture where everyone can thrive.

What You Will Do:

  • Work collaboratively with firm leadership and the Managing Director, Culture & Impact to set the firm’s OIB strategy and to educate functional areas of the firm about that strategy

  • Design and implement initiatives and programs that foster inclusivity, eliminate hidden barriers to success, and cultivate a deep sense of belonging across all roles, levels, and geographies

  • Partner with leadership of Goodwin’s Inclusion Networks to develop and implement annual strategic plans, request and manage annual budgets, and provide management updates. Also provide oversight and leadership to the local councils of Goodwin’s firmwide Inclusion Networks

  • Partner with firm leadership and cross-functional teams (People/Talent, Communications, Practice Management, etc.) to integrate OIB principles into policies, programs and decision-making frameworks

  • Elevate the voices and lived experiences of Goodwin’s people, leveraging storytelling, employee feedback, and inclusion network partnerships to shape culture and drive change

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to senior leaders on issues of inclusion and belonging, helping to shape firm culture and leadership behaviors

  • Mentor and lead OIB team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and inclusive team culture

  • Represent OIB in firmwide forums, leadership meetings, and external engagements

  • Ensure effective management of the OIB team project plans, calendars and budgets

  • Help develop and oversee firmwide education and engagement efforts that build cultural competence, inclusive leadership, and allyship across the organization

  • Help champion inclusive onboarding experiences, ensuring new hires feel welcomed, valued, and supported from day one

  • Stay ahead of trends in employee experience, workplace culture, and inclusion to ensure Goodwin remains a destination firm for top talent

Who You are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in employee engagement, workplace culture, OIB, or related fields, with a minimum of 5 years of OIB work preferred

  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is a plus

  • Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining project charters, project plans, status reports, budgets, and communication and change management plans

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Deep expertise in OIB principles, with a demonstrated ability to lead transformative initiatives and drive measurable impact

  • Strategic thinker with a strong ability to translate vision into action.

  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire across all levels of the organization

  • Inclusive leadership style grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and a commitment to inclusion and continuous learning

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration, build coalitions, and navigate complex organizational dynamics

  • Strong project management and change leadership capabilities

  • Ability to synthesize data and insights into compelling narratives and actionable strategies
