About your roleThis is a great opportunity to join a growing and exciting initiative as we continue to evolve and scale Juniper Square’s fund administration service. Our Capital Events & Performance team is filling a substantial market gap, responsible for all capital activity transactions and deliverables for Juniper Square’s Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Real Estate customers.
This service has had a huge impact across the business as it relates to workflow automation, leveraging technology to deliver an unparalleled customer experience, and enabling GPs to strengthen relationships with LPs.
As a Director, Fund Administration (Capital Events), you will be responsible for building and leading this highly specialized team. You will oversee all deliverables focusing on capital event transactions, including waterfalls, distributions, multiple close rebalancing, and capital calls. This role will report to a Senior Director, Fund Administration. You will have a significant opportunity to help shape the trajectory of this service offering and in so doing help to deliver a best-in-class experience to our customers.

What you’ll doTeam Leadership and Management:
Responsible for staffing and capacity management for the Capital Events team, including working with the leadership team to forecast hiring needs.
Hire, train, and lead a team of financial modeling experts that use Juniper Square software and Excel to manage our customers’ day-to-day transaction-related operations.
Conduct formal performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback to direct reports throughout the year.
Responsible for ensuring team satisfaction as assessed by our bi-annual employee engagement survey; design and execute on initiatives to improve team satisfaction.
Partner with the enablement team to enhance the training process and learning content, with a specific focus on complex financial modeling, LPA interpretation, and capital event transactions.
Client Service and Capital Event Delivery:
Responsible for the service delivery of the Capital Events team, ensuring customer health and that all deliverables (e.g., capital call notices, distribution notices, waterfall calculations) are accurate and on time.
Serve as the primary internal and external escalation point for challenging customer situations and complex technical questions related to LPAs, waterfalls, and capital transactions.
Perform hands-on, customer-facing work as needed to support the team, including maintaining complex waterfall and capital call models in Excel based on client LPAs and creating notices using our software.
Identify and execute on initiatives to improve team efficiency and productivity, including collaborating with our Product Team on technology and automation improvements for capital event processing.
Maintain strong controls around capital event deliverables and identify how our controls should evolve as the team scales.
Oversee the capital event components of the year-end audit process.
Responsible for ensuring collection on invoices to customers and timely maintenance of contracts.
Identify out-of-scope requests from clients and collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Investor Services to scope new service offerings related to complex capital administration.
10+ years of fund accounting experience in private equity, venture capital, real estate, and/or hedge funds. Experience working at a fund administrator is required.
Specific, deep expertise in private equity capital transactions, including complex waterfall modeling (American, European, preferred return, catch-up), capital calls, distributions, and multiple-close rebalancing.
Proven ability to interpret complex Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs) and translate their economic terms into operational models.
5+ years of experience hiring, managing, and developing a team, inclusive of managing highly technical individual contributors (e.g., modeling experts).
Passion to develop and train talent, providing coaching to ensure they are successful in their role.
Possess strong client and relationship management skills to drive outcomes and meet customer needs, especially during challenging situations.
Operational mindset with a strong focus on building repeatable, scalable processes.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to clients.
Skilled at building relationships at all levels of the organization.
Comfort with ambiguity; self-starter and entrepreneurial; inclusive attitude.
Compensation for this position includes a base salary, bonus, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $160,000-180,000 USD. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
