Team: Morningstar's global FP&A team plays a key role in enabling strategic decision-making through analytical rigor, performance insights, and financial stewardship. As we expand our capabilities in India, we're building a Center of Excellence (COE) that will serve as a strategic extension of our global FP&A organization.
Role: We are seeking an experienced senior FP&A leader to establish and lead Morningstar's newly formed FP&A Center of Excellence (COE) in Mumbai. Reporting to the Head of Corporate FP&A, this role will build, scale, and optimize a high-performing offshore FP&A team that drives process excellence, analytical rigor, and strategic business partnership through operational efficiency, automation, and analytics.
Shift: General Business Hours (Global Collaboration Required)
Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the FP&A COE, defining its strategy, structure, and operating model in alignment with Morningstar's global FP&A objectives.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and standardization of reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis processes.
- Build, develop, and mentor a team of Financial Analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and process excellence.
- Drive transition and migration of FP&A activities to the COE, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer and minimal disruption.
- Champion automation initiatives, standardized templates, and analytics-driven insights to enhance scalability and consistency.
- Collaborate with global FP&A teams and corporate stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial insights and performance management.
- Define and monitor KPIs to track efficiency, accuracy, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Lead change management, training, and communication strategies to strengthen alignment and engagement across teams.
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, and operational controls across all COE processes.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, with proven leadership in managing offshore or COE teams.
- Chartered Accountant and/or MBA from a reputed institution.
- Demonstrated expertise in process excellence, transformation, and global collaboration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced) and exposure to tools such as Oracle EPM, Workday Adaptive Planning, Tableau, Power BI, or Anaplan.
- Experience driving automation, standardization, and analytics-led FP&A operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-cultural environment with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
