This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving growth across Western Union’s Digital business, contributing directly to the Digital P&L of a strategic Region.
The role will own and execute the digital strategy of the entire Region, driving revenue growth, customer acquisition, product adoption, and technology utilization across markets, while shaping and supporting the go-to-market strategy.
The role requires end-to-end ownership of the regional digital roadmap, including market penetration, monetization strategies, and digital solution deployment. This leader will operate at the intersection of strategic vision and operational execution, ensuring Western Union remains competitive in a rapidly evolving digital arena in the Region.
Key responsibilities.
- Digital Strategy Execution: Lead digital strategy development and execution, aligning cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Business Ownership & Commercial Growth: Drive digital revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and engagement across all channels.
- Digital Product Delivery & Enablement: Oversee product development, technology delivery, care operations, business case creation, and analytics, ensuring initiatives are localized and commercially viable. Initiative and solutions include wallets, online platforms, and APIs.
This role combines digital strategic insight and capabilities, operational rigor, and business development expertise, placing the Director at the heart of both strategic execution and growth enablement.
Digital Strategy Execution: Lead the translation of the global digital strategy into actionable regional plans, aligning cross-functional teams across a matrixed environment. Drive execution in partnership with local markets and central support functions to ensure strategic objectives are delivered effectively. Champion strategic partnerships and go-to-market strategies to maximize market impact.
Business Ownership & Commercial Growth: Own and Drive digital revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and engagement across all digital channels.
Digital Product Delivery & Enablement: Manage large-scale, high-priority digital initiatives, ensuring alignment, risk mitigation, and successful rollout across the Region.
Customer-Centric Innovation: Evolve and localize digital products to meet the specific needs and behaviors of customers in the region. Leverage data insights and market feedback to prioritize feature development and user experience.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Set KPIs and monitor progress across strategic digital initiatives. Drive accountability and results through structured follow-up and agile adaptation.
