About the Role

Workday is looking for a Director of Finance to join the Customer Experience (CX) Finance Team. You will report to the Vice President of CX Finance. This role is a key position within Workday Finance as we strive to become an outstanding finance organization. You will partner strategically with CX Business Leaders to guide their investment decisions and demonstrate a data driven approach to decision making. 

Responsibilities:

  • Primary support for multiple VPs in the CX organization.

  • Lead a team that provides financial support to the Services Subscription Business, Development, Customer Success, Technical Support, Education Services, and CX Strategy & Operations teams.

  • Partner with Services Leadership to establish and drive functional budget tracking standards.

  • Work with the services leadership to drive the development of strategic (multi-year) long-term financial plans.

  • Lead all aspects of the monthly close process, maintaining alignment with Accounting and FP&A business partners to ensure accurate company-wide financial statement reporting.

  • Provide financial analysis supporting new product introductions and pricing.

  • Set business framework for running business investments, resource allocations, business planning, operations and performance measurements. Proactively monitor and put in place performance reporting processes to ensure both short-term and long-term objectives are met.

  • Review and revise critical metrics as needed to ensure they provide the right transparency into the business.

  • Provide management team with insightful decision support/business analysis. Build and maintain strong business controls.

  • Own variable comp analysis and business financials for the CX organization.

  • Understand the competitive landscape, including business strategies, cost structures and key business metrics.

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field or 12+ years of relevant experience and a master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in Business Partnering Finance Roles.

  • 3+ years of people leadership experience.

Other Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in a fast-growing technology company, preferably in the enterprise software or SAAS markets.

  • Strong record of career advancement with a well-rounded background in functions including financial planning, business partnering, and Marketing/Sales financial support.

  • Ability to understand the business beyond finance, and strong ability to think strategically.

  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills (comprehensive and detailed), with proven track record to build reports and access large volumes of data across multiple systems.

  • Proactive and constructive style of engagement with business leaders to earn credibility as a finance partner who adds value and helps drive business results.

  • Ability to package financial data/information in an executive manner focused on driving business decisions.

  • Roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and a hands-on approach.

  • Effectively translate strategies into financial plans.

  • A self-directed leader able to adapt quickly to changes in priorities and business conditions.

  • Proven track record of effectively managing and leading high-performance teams.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $201,600 USD - $302,400 USD


 

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $168,000 USD - $302,400 USD
