The Director, Credit Risk will oversee strategic leadership and direction of our credit and financial risk program, guide a team using data-driven and analytical approach to manage risk programs. Assist with audit and regulator requests across credit and financial risk and provide effective challenge and serve as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities
  • Execute a robust second-line credit risk management oversight framework encompassing lending products.
  • Ensure lending activities are compliant with the credit union's risk appetite as it pertains to asset quality, returns and capital.
  • Lead the development and execution of lending portfolio reports for the board of directors, executive team and internal governance committees.
  • Execute a second-line financial risk management program encompassing interest rate risk and liquidity risk.
  • Lead development and execution of ongoing reporting on financial risks to the board of directors, executive team and internal governance committees
  • Lead a team to use data and analytics to develop analytical frameworks and strategies for loan origination strategies, loss forecasting, capital planning and CECL.
  • Review business usage of origination risk factors and provide effective challenge to underwriting criteria and loan product pricing within the risk appetite.
  • Provide sound risk guidance, interpretation and forecasting based on quantitative facts and sound judgment.
  • Analyze second line mortgage & consumer loan portfolio performance and evaluate the profitability of new originations across managed portfolios, factoring in risk adjustments.
  • Oversee second line credit risk analytics, such as loan origination strategy, economic capital setting, credit loss modeling and mitigation, CECL implementation.
  • Provide oversight and support to collections to enable sound collection strategies and collaborate with data governance to improve and enhance the data infrastructure quality.
  • Develop periodic reports for audit and regulatory compliance and assist with ad hoc requests.
  • Develop and refine credit policies and procedures to support risk and regulatory changes while fostering relationships across different teams, such as first line credit risk, lending product, collections finance, and compliance.
  • Plan, oversee and lead the work of the team to meet functional and individual operational objectives and goals. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Responsible for hiring, performance management, discipline and problem-resolution decisions.
Education:
  • Bachelors Degree - Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or Related  - Minimum
  • Graduate Degree - Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or Related - Preferred
  Years of Experience:
  • 10 Years - Credit risk analytics within financial services environment or related - Minimum
  • 3 Years - People Management - Minimum

In Lieu of Education:


  • 15 Years - Credit risk analytics within financial services environment or related


Compensation & Benefits:

Typical hiring range:‏‏‎ ‎$148,800 - $215,800 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge. 

Additional Compensation: Annual performance bonus
