About the Project:
Join Thales’ largest project to date: the F126 frigate program for the German Navy. We’re developing and integrating all onboard subsystems, enabling next-generation warfighting capabilities to counter evolving above-water threats. Our software connects Thales’ advanced radar suite with firing systems, using intelligent algorithms to empower defense operators with split-second decision-making.
About the job:
As a DevOps Platform Engineer, you will develop in a multidisciplinary Agile team, that maintains, develops, and tests the infrastructure software platforms for combat management systems. These development teams are responsible for the entire development chain - from requirements analysis, development, maintenance, patching, integration, deployment, testing, validation, to demonstrating the current status of the product. Your role will be diverse, and flexibility is key.

We are seeking for a talented DevOps Platform Engineer who excels in complex development of systems, has strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, and embodies a growth and agile mindset.
You also have a capacity for continuous learning and are eager to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
Relevant Skills:
Linux: Over 5 years of experience with Red Hat certification.
IT Security: Experience with IT security practices and scanning tooling (e.g., OpenScap, Nessus).
Cloud native: Experience in containerization development.
Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Ansible, certification or demonstratable knowledge is a plus
Software Maintenance: Experience maintaining software across Operating System releases.
Tools and Technologies: Experience with the following:
- Programming languages: bash, python.
- Software containers & Kubernetes.
- Build pipelines and support tooling (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Maven, Jira).
Network Technologies: Experience with network technologies
Scaled scrum: experience is a plus
You also hold a bachelor/master degree in computer science, IT service management or comparable.
We expect you possess fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
