Summary:

Empower Allegro employees to innovate with purpose by providing exceptional technical support and solutions for their desktop systems and applications. As a Desktop Systems Specialist, you'll be a key player in ensuring our teams have the technology they need to drive e-mobility, clean energy, and automation forward. This role combines technical expertise with a customer-centric approach, enabling you to champion user success and contribute to a world-class IT organization.

This role is based in Milan, Assago.

Responsibilities:

  • Championing User Success: Provide outstanding day-to-day technical assistance to both on-site and remote users, acting as a trusted advisor and problem-solver. Support encompasses network infrastructure, desktop systems (hardware and software), and corporate applications.

  • Technical Expertise: Investigate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to software applications and hardware, demonstrating strong methodical troubleshooting skills and a passion for continuous learning.

  • Driving Innovation: Embrace new technologies and proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing processes and troubleshooting methods. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and best practices.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate effectively within a global IT team, communicating technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical personnel. Partner with development teams on application support issues and contribute to establishing application support standards.

  • Ownership & Accountability: Manage individual projects and deadlines with minimal supervision, taking responsibility for hardware and software procurement and asset management. Effectively utilize our helpdesk ticketing system to track, document, and report on support incidents.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Operating Systems (desktop and server).

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Project, Visio, and Office applications.

  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory (user creation, password management, troubleshooting).

  • Knowledge of endpoint antivirus and web filtering software.

  • In-depth understanding of PC hardware, including component-level expertise and installation experience.

  • Experience with printer repair and connectivity troubleshooting.

  • Working knowledge of networking configuration and troubleshooting.

  • A plus: Scripting experience (PowerShell or similar) or a demonstrated willingness to learn.
