Job Description

Under direct supervision, assists in creating design, layout and coding of web pages (desktop, responsive, mobile), applications and email templates.

Participates in design and development of user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements. Optimizes for search engines, usability and accessibility. Works to improve the usability, usefulness, and desirability of Web sites in collaboration with graphic designers, product managers, engineering staff and other Web designers. Assists in conducting user studies, design and perform usability tests, create prototypes, and provide ad hoc user interface consulting. Contributes to the design group's efforts to enhance the appeal of the organization's online offerings. Designs web page layout and online content, user interface graphics, icons, color schemes, content and infrastructure for new product release and new web-hosted product offering. Performs development and maintenance programming for web pages and web applications. Assures web server and site technical performance. Contributes to developing, assessing and communicating website usage and security policies and standards.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requires basic understanding of web-based technologies and thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Responsive Design, browsers, ASP pages, object-oriented technology, and other design-related or graphics applications. Requires basic knowledge of commercial web tools and protocols. Uses a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools. Search Engine Optimization understanding. Responsive design knowledge. Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools.
