About the Role: 

As VP of Product Design, you will lead a team responsible for design across AlphaSense’sWeb, Mobile, and Enterprise Solutions products. You will inspire the team to create a cohesive, top-quality experience that aligns with how our users engage with our platform from end-to-end. 

This key leadership position is responsible for developing an overall strategy for our ever-evolving product, leveraging the current team’s talents and wisdom, leveling them up, and motivating them to think differently. 

The VP of Product Design plays an integral role in coordinating across the Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and GTM teams – delivering a world-class user experience across all touchpoints.

The Ideal Candidate:

• 15+ years of experience in Product Design and recent experience in a product development setting within an Enterprise SaaS software company.
• 8+ years managing Design teams, including at least 5 years managing teams of 5 or more – with experience planning, building, mentoring, and developing a Product Design team.
• A portfolio of relevant Product Design case studies, executed under your leadership, that conveys an ability to drive large-scale, complex, and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Embodies a user-centered approach to Product Design, with an emphasis on utilizing user research in the design process.
• Proven success deploying a design system with a focus on high-quality UI Engineering and scalable product design — continuously looking to optimize and improve Product Design output.
• Can lead team members with a variety of working styles, balancing direction with empowerment.
• A leader in the Product Design space that can help build the internal and external brand of AlphaSense Design.
• Experience in developing and advocating for a Data-Driven approach to design. You've collaborated with Analytics teams to get design and product teams the metrics needed to drive meaningful business outcomes.
• Has a collaborative, low-ego approach to working with others to drive strategy, vision, and execution, across Product Management, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and GTM teams.

What You’ll Do: 

• Plan, structure, and lead a world-class Product Design team – developing the Product Design team’s brand within and outside of AlphaSense.
• Build and maintain a continuous 2-year vision for the Product Design team, in partnership with the Product Management and Engineering peer leaders.
• Implement and mature overarching Product Design processes and define team roles –  promote our guiding philosophies and design beliefs in everything the team does.
• Continuously look for ways to enhance the efficiencies and outputs of individual contributors on the team, through empowerment and direction.
• Collaborate with peer leaders across Engineering, Product Management, Content, Marketing, and GTM to build and execute on AlphaSense strategy.
• Evangelize the prioritization of Product Design excellence, and partner with cross-functional teams in Product, Engineering, and Testing at every stage and facet of product development.
