About the team and position
The Visual Design Team at Carvana is looking for a Visual Designer to join our team in Los Angeles. Visual designers create impact across every touchpoint in our customer's journey in both the digital and physical worlds. The ideal candidate is passionate about design, branding and is a master craftsperson. They will need to be able to contribute to projects from kick-off through delivery, proactively solving problems and anticipating the needs of the brand. Visual designers are expected to be innovators who are able to not only develop on-brand work, but find opportunities to evolve Carvana’s identity in intelligent and creative ways.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop guidelines for consistent, on-brand, high quality work for both digital and physical worlds
- Develop a vision for the brand’s aesthetics for the future
- Translate strategy to design
- Set design direction for high profile projects
- Manage brand identity, sponsorships, sub-brands and partnerships
- Transform concepts into stunning designs
- Shape how we communicate our brand
- Collaborate with product design, marketing, brand management, production and project management to craft impactful work
- Lead projects from conception through delivery
- Ensure that all the work done adheres to Carvana’s voice and visual style
What you should know/have
- 3+ years of experience working as a designer in-house or agency
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- An available online portfolio
- Experienced in the Adobe Creative Suite
- An ability to handle multiple projects, manage your time effectively, and meet deadlines
- An eye for detail and consistency across the entire customer journey
- Ability to take charge of a project when necessary and guide it to completion
- Animation or 3D skills would be a plus
