Overview

Summary of Responsibilities:

Highly creative, UX and UI designer that creates delightful user experiences for our web and mobile products. Requires a proven history of web design, graphic design and user experience design with innovative, highly usable interfaces and a deep knowledge of website design and development. Applies broad knowledge of user-centered design concepts, market research and analytics to articulate and develop the end-user experience, making the visual design delightful and the user interaction intuitive while meeting user and business objectives. Develops user personas, journey maps, design concepts, low-mid-high fidelity wireframes and design comps, and graphic design elements for responsive web and mobile applications that can be translated into rapid prototypes, validating assumptions that foster positive user experiences. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of design decisions, aligned with team and leadership, and escalated when needed.
Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies knowledge and skills with visual design, user experience design and appropriate web design and development technologies.
  • Collaborates and designs delightful user experiences based on business and user objectives, user and market research, and analytics.
  • Uses journey maps and personas to develop user flows, taxonomies, information architecture, site mapping and wireframes that deliver consistent, effective and efficient user experiences.
  • Articulates and creates design concepts, annotated wireframes and rapid prototypes for mobile-first responsive websites and mobile applications.
  • Designs for and tests user engagement and conversion, including element design, page placement/position and text/copy.
  • Evaluates existing digital experiences to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Performs and/or participates in user research, concept testing, usability testing and analytics review to gain insights that make user interaction delightful. Assists with the measurement of user experience and the collection of insights to improve performance and maintainability of the solution.
  • Interfaces and collaborates with business partners to help gather requirements and translate them to functional solutions.
  • Creates, presents and supports concepts with consideration of market research, UX and UI patterns, business requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborates to build solutions that meet Google Page Experience Core Web Vitals measures.
  • Collaborates to build solutions that meet Accessibility guidelines - WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Selection Criteria:

  • A minimum of four years preferred of developing user experiences for web and mobile products.
  • Proven experience working through UI/UX design phases (design concepts to comps, user testing to annotated low-mid-high fidelity wireframes). Portfolio required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of user-centric design processes and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of professional methodologies and best practices with proven experience in creating deliverables used to develop and implement user experience including personas, user flows, design concepts, wireframes, rapid prototypes, testing, page design, information architecture, site maps, and web page development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of responsive web design (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
  • Proven cross-browser development and testing experience.
  • Proven ability to design for page objectives within user flows for optimal conversion.
  • Proven understanding of multivariate testing.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of evaluating web analytics and applying UX/UI patterns to improve metrics.
  • Proven understanding of UI implications of Search Engine Optimization.
  • Understanding of Google Page Experience and Core Web Vitals thresholds
  • Understanding of Accessibility guidelines - WCAG 2.1 Level AA
  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum and Kanban methodologies, processes and principles a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate UX/UI principles, patterns and best practices verbally and in writing
  • Proven verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Work Setting:

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in interactive design, computer science, graphic design, technical communications or industrial design or similar related fields.

Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Sprint Delivery software (i.e. Team Foundation Server, Jira or similar) a plus but not required.
  • Wireframe (i.e. Sketch, Figma)
  • Prototype (i.e. InVision, Figma)
  • Graphic design (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Usability Testing (i.e. Validately, Optimizely) as plus but not required
  • Web Analytics (i.e. Google Analytics, Sitecore Analytics)
  • Working knowledge of Sitecore Content Management preferred but not required
  • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript

Certifications & Licenses (i.e., Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):

  • UX, Web Design, Google Analytics Certifications preferred but not required with demonstrated knowledge.

Position Demands:

  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
  • Occasional travel may be required by car and/or plane.
